Caren has worked in the children's services industry for over 23 years as a service manager and as a child care consultant for long day care, occasional care & outside school hours care services both at a local government level and as a private provider. As a project officer for the Community Services & Health industry training board Caren worked on the board's widely recognised Recognition of Current Competency (RCC) package. As a consultant for Community Child Care, Caren developed business and marketing plans for a range of community based early childhood services and as a child care trainer/assessor in TAFE, wrote, delivered and assessed a range of early childhood courses. After managing another private RTO for 7 years, Caren along with Kellie Normington started Practical Outcomes. Caren has written, and delivers our Certificate IV in Training and Assessment qualification and works with our clients and students interstate. Caren holds a Diploma and Advanced Diploma of Children's Services, Certificate IV and Diploma of Training & Assessment and an Advanced Diploma of Management. Caren is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (MAICD).
Kellie Normington - Director
Kellie has more than 23 years experience working in early childhood education. Kellie's work history includes a combination of direct service work and management of preschool, special education, home based care, out of school hours care and maternal and child health services. In recent years, Kellie's experience is in the areas of child care consultancy, local government management, and workplace training. She has spent a number of these years undertaking service reviews as well as writing and delivering workplace based training programs from Certificate III to Advanced Diploma level. In 2006 Kellie along with Caren Watts started Practical Outcomes. Kellie's qualifications include a Diploma of Teaching specialising in early childhood education, a Graduate Diploma of Teaching - special education with a focus on the early years and a Certificate IV in Assessment & Workplace Training. Ollie Tabone Ollie comes to Practical Outcomes and Culinary Skills Australia with a background of business development and relationship management. Her background includes owning and running a variety of businesses. She has managed a large motel complex for a national apartment group, owned a hotel in Ballarat and been involved in project management. The last few years have seen her move into the training sector and she has specialised in small business skills analysis and guiding the staff into skills recognition and training pathways. Carmel Zeidan joined Practical Outcomes in 2008 with more than 23 years experience in early childhood services specialising in Long Day Care. Carmel's experience includes both management of community based services as well valuable experience in the private sector. Carmel's training experience includes delivering food safety programs, early childhood training for Australian School Based Apprentices as well as extensive experience facilitating in-service training on a range of topics. Carmel often delivers for us under our professional support contract with Community Child Care. Carmel's specialty is Nutrition and food safety and brings a wealth of experience in this area to our company. Carmel holds a Diploma of Children's Services, a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and is studying the Advanced Diploma of Children's Services. Michael Stanley  After running his own specialty health training business Michael has joined the team full time in the role of Senior Health Consultant As a registered nurse with over 20 years in the health industry and a strong training and consulting background Michael brings to Practical Outcomes wealth of knowledge in the Children’s health, aged care and Disability sectors Michael has developed and delivered many training programs across all sectors of the community including First Aid, Anaphylaxis and Asthma. These include tailored programs to meet the needs of specific industries or individual clients. Examples include industry specific first aid, modified programs for disability sector and specific health related programs. Michael is a clinical education consultant for a number of Aged care and disability service facilities across Victoria. He has also provided professional development training for General Practitioners, Dentists and other medical professionals. His qualifications include: - Bachelor of health Science (Nursing)

Marlene Milne
Marlene Milne joined Practical Outcomes in 2008 with more than 26 years in Children's Services. After her work overseas with recreational programs, Marlene started her Australian career as a Coordinator of an Out of School Hours (OSH) program before advancing to work in local government, managing several outside school hours services. During these years, Marlene has had many years experience with Executive positions on Committees - the Victorian Association for Out of School Hours Services, Regional Network Groups and Child Care Committees of Management. Marlene holds a Diploma and Advanced Diploma of Children's Services (child care and outside school hours care), NCAC training qualification for OSH, Certificate of Occupational Health and Safety - Supervisors and Managers, and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. Gabriela Trandis
Gabie joined Practical Outcomes in 2010 with more than 22 years experience working in Community based and privately owned long day care services. She has been an Assistant Director and a Team Leader throughout her many years and also a Reviewer for the National Childcare Accreditation Council. Gabie is a passionate about advocating for children's rights and has a passion for programming planning that engages children's interests and strengths. Gabie holds an Associate Diploma, Advanced Diploma in Children's Services and the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
Lachlan Hudson - Hospitality Trainer
Lachlan commenced hospitality at the age of 14 working as a baker before and after school. Knowing that this was a career he wanted to pursue, he found himself working in hospitality in cafe's and catering companies until he finished school and commenced his apprenticeship. Lachlan has worked in family restaurants, fine dining restaurants and five star hotels. He earned his first head chef role whilst still a third year apprentice and in the same year took out the coveted 'Apprentice of the year' in the hospitality sector and was ranked in the top seven Apprentices of the year across all industries. Lachlan's more recent roles have included having the honour of being personal chef for celebrities such as Alice Cooper and various other music, sporting, acting and political figures, during their Melbourne stays. The most interesting being the personal chef to the Dalai Lama. Lachlan began his training career at the end of 2008 now enjoys working for Practical Outcomes where he can pass on his wealth of skills and knowledge to others. Lachlan delivers catering operation to our early childhood centre cooks and will be writing and delivering many short cooking courses over the coming 12 months. Kristy O'Toole
Kristy joined Practical Outcomes in 2010 with close to 20year's experience in the field of Early Childhood Education. Kristy began working in Long Day Care as a Mothercraft Nurse and gained experience in a range of private and community based services. Kristy has acted in both 2IC and Co-ordinator roles. A desire to continue to learn saw Kristy gain a Pre-School Teachers qualification and work for 5 years as a kindergarten teacher with 3 and 4 year old groups. Kristy's training experience has included delivering Diploma, Cert III, and VET courses through TAFE programs and has also extended to work place training with off-campus students. Kristy values respect - respect for children, families and for educators. Kristy has a Diploma of Social Science, Bachelor of Arts, Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Graduate Certificate in VET, and a Certificate IV in SACS (Social and Community Services). Kristy is currently studying a Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education.
Mary Pollerd
Mary joined Practical Outcomes in 2010 with over 12 years experience in the Children's Services industry. Mary has worked in Long Day Care, Outside School Hours Care and as a private Nanny in both Victoria and Queensland. Mary later went on to become an Inclusion Support Facilitator before working as a consultant and then as the Training Manager with FKA Children's Services. Mary is passionate about inclusion and exploring diversity with children and families. Mary enjoys assisting students to research and resource themselves to provide high quality programs, as well as mentoring and coaching students to reach their full potential. Mary holds a Diploma and Advanced Diploma of Children's Services and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and is currently studying a Diploma of Business Management.
Suzanne Edwards
Suzanne commenced with Practical Outcomes as a full time trainer in August 2010. Suzanne comes to Practical Outcomes with 12 months of full time and 2.5 years of part time experience. Prior to training Suzanne worked for the National Childcare Accreditation Council as a full time Validator visiting educators and schemes all over Australia. Suzanne set up and worked for many years as a Co-ordinator of a non for profit Family Day Care Scheme. In addition Suzanne worked for 2 years as an assistant Co-ordinator of an Out of School HOurs Program, a reliever in kindergarten and a family day care provider. We are pleased to have Suzanne as a Family Day Care specialist on our team.
Loredana Dowdle
Loredana comes to us with over 14 years experience in early childhood settings, including many years as a live in/ out nanny in Australia and overseas and a family day care provider. Some of her experience includes 11 years in community based long day care as a room leader and 2IC. In this role she supported and mentored staff in program planning processes. Loredana holds a diploma of Social Science (child care) and a certificate IV in training and assessment. Loredana enjoys building relationships with children and their families, working as a team in educating and caring for future generations.
Angelique Sinton Angelique has worked in the Early Childhood Education sector for 11 years. She studied in New Zealand and received her Bachelor in 2003. She has extensive knowledge of Te Whariki the New Zealand curriculum. Angelique's extensive experience includes, supervising Long day care in Ski resorts in New Zealand and America, teaching in Nurseries in the UK and a full time nanny position. Before starting at Practical Outcomes Angelique worked for FKA children's services as the Multi Cultural Resource Co-ordinator/Consultant and then moved on to a team leader role at Monash Caulfield Childcare Centre, where she continues to work four days a week. Mandy FlackMandy joins Practical Outcomes with more than 13 years experience in Outside School Hours Care. Mandy's experience includes Coordinating Outside School Hours Care programs and working as a Validator for the NCAC. Mandy's qualificaitons include Diploma of Children's Services (OSHC), Advanced Diploma of Children's Services and Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment. Mandy is enthusiastic about mentoring and coaching students and staff and feels strongly about supporting whole services with her knowledge and experience. Mandy has also participated in the pilot program with the National Quality Framework. Sue Crook - Senior Early childhood ConsultantSue Crook is an Early Childhood Educator with extensive experience in the field, including working  in kindergartens rtens, child care, TAFE and as a Play Specialist at the Royal Children?s Hospital. She also has a wealth of experience working with children and families from a wide range of cultural backgrounds. Sue is passionate about many areas of the early childhood field including the relationships between children, parents and educators, routines, play and learning environments, creativity and environmental education. She particularly enjoys the process of sharing and exchanging ideas with students and graduates. Leanne Nicholls  Leanne has had over 25 years extensive experience in a range of Children's Services. These include Long day care as a room leader and second in charge. Leanne has managed an Occasional care centre, Out Of School Hours care and Vacation care. She was then employed as a fieldworker for Family Day care and In Home Care. Her experience has given her an indepth knowledge of a variety of child care options and children of all ages. Leanne is passionate about setting up the environment and play spaces in creative, imaginative ways: using recycled and natural materials. Leanne began her qualifications with a Certificate of Social Science: Mothercraft Nurse and then continued her studies with a Diploma of Social Science: child care services. Sue DamianoSue joined Parcatical Oucomes in 2012 with over 20 yea  rs experience in the Early Childhood Education and Care indursty. Rebecca Rendell  Rebecca comes to Practical Outcomes with more than 8 years as an early childhood educator and most recently as a Centre Director. Caroline James Caroline joined Practical Outcomes in 2011 after working in Out of School Hours Services for more than 20 years. The last 15 years Caroline was in the role of Out of School Hours Coordinator. Other roles in Children’s Services include Occasional Care, Long Day Care and Integration Aid in a classroom environment. Caroline is passionate about the health and wellbeing of all children. Caroline will use her knowledge and experience to help others provide quality care to children and their families. Nicole Hageman - Finance ManagerNicole joined Practical Outcomes in 2007 and works with us 3 days a week and is responsible for our accounts payable and receivable. Nicole comes to Practical Outcomes with many years of experience in managing small family businesses. Nicole has recently completed her Certificate III in Business.

Kristina Jerkic - Administration ManagerKristina joined Practical Outcomes in 2009 with 2 years experience working with another private RTO in administration and assisting management. Now being the Administration Manager for Practical Outcomes, Kristina is the point of contact for all student enquiries, employer enquiries, enrolments, and general administration duties. Kristina is a highly motivated, organised, quick and efficient, and loves working in a team environment. Kristina currently studying her Diploma of Business Administration & Diploma of Business Management.
Melissa Perry - Administration/ PA
Melissa joined Practical Outcomes in 2010 after years of administration and management assistant, her background being a personal assistant to the general manager of Toll logistics and a student contact officer at RMIT. Melissa is the point of contact for all student enquiries, employer enquiries, enrolments and general administration duties and is also the personal assistant to both the directors of Practical Outcomes.
Specialist Trainers/FacilitatorsPractical Outcomes are thrilled to have the following specialist trainers available to deliver workshops and in-service training sessions for us: Anna Papaleo Anna Papaleo joins Practical Outcomes with over 13 years experience in the Children's Services Industry. Anna will be delivering some tailored workshops for us as well as undertaking specialist consultancy projects. Amongst a range of childcare and management positions including coordinating childcare centres both for local government and private enterprise, Anna has also worked in the role of Children's Services Resource and Development Officer supporting and assisting early childhood professionals with strategies and supports for children with additional needs as well as children and families from CALD back-grounds. Anna owns and operates her own early childhood management company and manages a number of early childhood services for licensees. In this role Anna manages; supports and trains staff to provide quality programs and centres. Anna holds a Diploma and Advanced Diploma of Children's Services and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. |
