Caren Watts
Caren has worked in the children's services
industry for over 23 years as a service manager
and as a child care consultant for long day care,
occasional care & outside school hours care services
both at a local government level and as a private
provider.
As a project officer for the Community Services &
Health industry training board Caren worked on the
board's widely recognised Recognition of Current
Competency (RCC) package.
As a consultant for
Community Child Care, Caren developed business and
marketing plans for a range of community based early
childhood services and as a child care
trainer/assessor in TAFE, wrote, delivered and
assessed a range of early childhood courses.
After managing another private RTO for 7 years, Caren
along with Kellie Normington started Practical
Outcomes.
Caren has written, and delivers our Certificate IV in
Training and Assessment qualification and works
with our clients and students interstate. Caren
holds a Diploma and Advanced Diploma of Children's
Services and a Certificate IV and Diploma of Training &

Kellie Normington
Kellie has more than 23 years experience working
in early childhood education. Kellie’s work history
includes a combination of direct service work and
management of preschool, special education, home
based care, out of school hours care and maternal
and child health services.
In recent years, Kellie’s experience is in the areas
of child care consultancy, local government
management, and workplace training. She has spent a
number of these years undertaking service reviews as
well as writing and delivering workplace based
training programs from Certificate III to Advanced
Diploma level.
In 2006 Kellie along with Caren Watts started
Practical Outcomes.
Kellie’s qualifications include a Diploma of
Teaching specialising in early childhood education,
a Graduate Diploma of Teaching - special education
with a focus on the early years and a Certificate IV

Bronwyn Joslyn
Bronwyn Joslyn joined Practical
Outcomes in 2007 with more than 17 years in
the children's services industry.
Amongst a range of child care and
hospitality positions includes
coordinating child care centres,
developing OSH
programs and managing a family owned
early childhood service. Bronwyn has
also been part of strategic teams
collaborating together to plan and
build best practice children’s
services centres to meet the needs
of their surrounding community.
Bronwyn's training experience
includes writing and delivering food
safety programs, child care training
for Australian School Based
Apprentices, customising training
programs for individual learners as
well as extensive experience
facilitating in-service training on
a range of topics.
As a consultant, Bronwyn works with
clients to undertake service
reviews, plans and facilitates
performance reviews and provides
general recommendations regarding
the management of child care
programs.

Carmel Zeidan joined Practical

Carmel's experience

for Australian School Based

professional support contract with

Andrea Warry
Andrea joined Practical Outcomes in
2008 with
18 years experience in long day
care and occasional care.
Andrea worked as both a team leader
and coordinator before studying
again to become a trainer and
assessor.
In this role Andrea has had
extensive experience collaborating
as part of a team to develop
comprehensive and innovative
training material for students.
She has experience in training and
assessment for Long Day Care,
Outside School Hours Care, Family
Day Care and Pre School as well as
delivering a variety of workshop
topics.
Andrea is passionate about providing
a flexible and child centred program
for children with a focus on natural
materials, the outdoors and
children's literature.

Dee Bell
Dee joined Practical Outcomes in
2008 with over 19 years experience in
the Early Childhood industry.
Her experience includes working a
private nanny, team leader in both
community long day care and a family
owned and operated children's
services centre. Dee has also
managed before school care programs
and before going on maternity leave
to have her four children, she was a
Director and Preschool Teacher of a
three and four year old preschool.
As well as her commitment to
ensuring high quality care in
children's services, she has a
passion for play spaces that engage
children and include natural and
recycled products.

Marlene Milne
Marlene Milne joined Practical
Outcomes in 2008 with more than 26 years in
Children’s Services. After her
work overseas with recreational
programs, Marlene started her
Australian career as a Coordinator
of an Out of School Hours (OSH)
program before advancing to work in
local government, managing several
outside school hours services.
During these years, Marlene has had
many years experience with Executive
positions on Committees - the
Victorian Association for Out of
School Hours Services, Regional
Network Groups and Child Care
Committees of Management.

Amy Spiteri
Amy joined Practical Outcomes
in 2009 with
over 12 years experience in the
Children’s Service Industry,
predominantly managing both
community based and privately owned
early childhood services. Amy has
worked with a range of parent
committees, committees that work in
partnership with non-for-profit organisations and privately owner
operated services. Amy has
also worked in Preschools running 3
year old kindergarten.
Amy's experience also includes
working as a swim centre trainer for
new swim instructors, as well and
working as a swim instructor with
children from the ages of 6 months
to 5 years of age.
Amy's training
experience includes working as an
Early Childhood trainer and
assessor, delivering Certificate 3
through to Advanced Diploma
qualifications as well as Food
Handling and Food Safety Supervisor
certificates.
Amy is passionate
towards the rights of the child and
for all children are entitled to
their own respected identity.

Joanne McCormack
Joanne
joined Practical Outcomes in 2009 as a workplace trainer for our Shepparton/Mansfield area.
Jo has
been involved in the education of children for the
past 19 years when she first began as a
Integration/Teacher Aide, assisting children with
special needs in classroom settings.
When Jo
moved to the Shepparton area she introduced the
After School care program to a number of school
while continuing her role as an Aide throughout the
local area.
In 1999
Jo studied her Diploma of Children's Services as a
Mature Aged student and once qualified became a Room
Leader, working her way up to the 2IC position
within the first 12 months. By the time Jo had
worked for 2 years she was the Director of a centre
which is a role she kept until February 2009.
During
her time as a Director Jo has experienced the
Accreditation process on 5 occasions working in both
community and privately owned organisations.
Jo is a
passionate supporter of children experiencing their
learning through flexible, fun, challenging
activities and believes that programs should be
based around the individual child and their
interests and needs.
Jo also
feels strongly about the bonds staff make with their
families and fellow workers, she feels these are
fundamental in making a warm, inviting and caring
environment for the children to grow in, and that if
staff and parent's work together the consistency
will overflow for the child to feel safe,
comfortable and loved by all.

Colleen Caton
Colleen
joined Practical Outcomes in 2009
after working in the Early Childhood
field for 15 years. Colleen
completed her Associate Diploma in
Social Science (Childcare) in 1994
and commenced work in a variety of
environments undertaking numerous
roles. Colleen has worked in
Community based Long Day Care
Settings as Team Leader, Second In
Charge, as a Pre-school Teacher and
Manager.
In 1999
Colleen ventured back to study to
complete her Bachelor of Arts in
Early Childhood Education. Colleen
holds this qualification along with
a Certificate IV in Training and
Assessment.
Colleen
really enjoys working with children,
but also enjoys the work involved in
mentoring students, working with
families and staff.

Lachlan Hudson -
Hospitality trainer
Lachlan
commenced hospitality at the age of
14 working as a baker before and after
school. Knowing that this was
a career he wanted to pursue, he
found himself working in hospitality
in cafe’s and catering companies
until he finished school and
commenced his apprenticeship.
Lachlan has
worked in family restaurants, fine
dining restaurants and five star
hotels. He earned his first
head chef role whilst still a third
year apprentice and in the same year
took out the coveted 'Apprentice of
the year' in the hospitality sector
and was ranked in the top seven
Apprentices of the year across all
industries.
Lachlan's more
recent roles have included having
the honour of being personal chef
for celebrities such as Alice Cooper
and various other music, sporting,
acting and political figures, during
their Melbourne stays. The
most interesting being the personal
chef to the Dalai Lama.
Lachlan began
his training career at the end of
2008 now enjoys working for
Practical Outcomes where he can pass
on his wealth of skills and
knowledge to others. Lachlan
delivers catering operation to our
early childhood centre cooks and
will be writing and delivering many
short cooking courses over the
coming 12 months.

Kristy O'Toole
Kristy joined
Practical Outcomes in 2010 with
close to 20year’s experience in the
field of Early Childhood Education.
Kristy began working in Long Day
Care as a Mothercraft Nurse and
gained experience in a range of
private and community based
services. Kristy has acted in both
2IC and Co-ordinator roles.
A desire to
continue to learn saw Kristy gain a
Pre-School Teachers qualification
and work for 5 years as a
kindergarten teacher with 3 and 4
year old groups.
Kristy’s training
experience has included the
delivering Diploma, Cert III, and
VETiS courses through TAFE programs
and has also extended to work place
training with off-campus students.
Kristy values
respect - respect for children,
families and for educators.
Kristy has a

Soraya Bejar -
Manager - Student Administration
Soraya Bejar joined Practical Outcomes in
2009 with
more than 21 years in the customer service
industry and 7 years in the Private
Registered Training Organisation sector.
Soraya has worked both in management and
training services in Retail, Transport &
Distribution and Natural Therapies
Industries. Positions held have included -
Lead trainer in the Point of Sale/Systems
Support for Brashes H/O IT department. This
involved development of training
documentation, Helpdesk support and
travelling inter-state for the Australia
wide co-ordination, scheduling and training
of new trainers, store staff and management.
As a Human Resources/Administration Manager
for Target which included induction and
supervision of up to approx. 200 casual,
part time, and full time employees at a
variety of stores, and various Training
Coordinator positions with the Coles Myer
group which included interviewing, inducting
and managing and coordination of government
funding for approx. 1000
trainees/apprentices.
Her most recent position as a College
Administrator for a Registered Training
Organisation in Natural Therapies saw her
overseeing all the administration duties of
a number of accredited and non-accredited
in-class and distance learning courses in
human & animal studies.
Soraya is a motivated professional with a
variety of skills and experience. She brings
to the position a mature outlook, excellent
teamwork and leadership skills, a strong
work ethic and above all a need to produce
quality work.

Jane McCahon - Trainer and Consultant for
Children's Services
Jane comes to Practical Outcomes with more than 21
years experience in the early childhood field.
Over this time Jane has held many roles from
Chairperson of the CSRDO association, management
roles in local government programs as well as many
years of working as a facilitator and trainer..
Jane's passion is the use of natural materials,
creating interesting play spaces and empowering
staff to create opportunities for children.
Anna Papaleo
Anna Papaleo joins Practical
Outcomes with over 13 years
experience in the Children’s
Services Industry. Anna will
be delivering some tailored
workshops for us as well as
undertaking specialist consultancy
projects.
Amongst a range of childcare and
management positions including
coordinating childcare centres both
for local government and private
enterprise, Anna has also worked in
the role of Children’s Services
Resource and Development Officer
supporting and assisting early
childhood professionals with
strategies and supports for children
with additional needs as well as
children and families from CALD
back-grounds.
Anna owns and operates her own early
childhood management company and manages
a number of early childhood services
for licensees.
In this role Anna
manages; supports and trains staff to
provide quality programs and
centres.
