RPL - Recognition of Prior LearningPractical Outcomes are pleased to be able to offer an RPL - Recognition of Prior Learning process for each student and every course. Our RPL process is based on the 'Recognising Competency' model developed by the Community Services & Health Industry Training Board. '....all the tools and processes have been developed by industry leaders and experienced trainers and assessors to ensure that the process is reliable, consistent, and valid'.. Brian Spencer, Executive Officer CS&HITB 2007 The RPL process involves our experienced trainers and assessors working with you to determine the knowledge and skills that you already have and therefore what learning needs to take place to match the qualification requirements. We work with you to build a learning and assessment program that meets your needs. The RPL model includes observation in the workplace and professional conversations with your trainer about your job and your work practices. Once we have determined what you know and what skills you have we can then:
What if you need training? If you have a gap in your knowledge or skills we will design a plan for you. This plan might include training, mentoring or coaching in the workplace, attending a class or workshop or simply practicing new skills and being re-assessed. EligibilityEveryone is eligible to take part in an RPL process, regardless of the course or work situation. Some courses require observation in a workplace which involves us assessing your practical skills against the knowledge that is required. If you do not have a 'workplace' we may be able to organise one for you. Obtaining recognition does not need to be a complicated, stressful and time consuming process that involves you collecting a stack of paperwork. This model is user friendly and a pleasure to participate in. Please give our consultants a call and we can guide you through the different RPL options that are available to you. |
